I know most of Missouri's birds and animals at first glance. I'm good at identifying some trees and flowers, but these have me stumped. The first person to correctly identify what they are in the comments will receive a free cropped and edited print of the photo without my shop name on it. So name that flower!
Red Bud Tree
Crab Apple
Spring Beauty
Wild Cherry Tree
Larkspur
Ummmmm....................I'll have to come back and see what they are.....
ReplyDeleteI'm not good with plant identification but they are pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is a Red Bud tree...I have no idea why they call it red when they aren't. My theory is a colored blind male named it. I think the second one is an Ornamental Crab Apple. We have two in our church yard. I think the third one is called Spring Beauty? The fourth one looks like a butterfly bush. and, I don't know what the purple one is.
ReplyDeleteThe fifth one is larkspur.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
They are beautiful whatever they are :) Blessings Niki x
ReplyDeleteWow, Zuda you are good! Thank you! I don't think the fourth one is a butterfly bush. They are tall trees that grow wild everywhere, but the rest were correct and Luella was right with the larkspur. Thank you so much for your help! Please convo me with your addresses so I can send you your photo prints.
ReplyDeleteThe white one is a spiraea I think.
ReplyDeleteIs the last one white lilac?
ReplyDeleteUmmm - I don't think white lilac. Oh! I see Sheila came up with another for the white flowers.
ReplyDeleteNope, I already checked those. I thought they were wild lilacs too, but when I looked them up it didn't look like that. Let me see if I have one of the whole tree. That might help.
ReplyDeleteOh! since it is a tall tree, it could be some sort of a Locust tree.
ReplyDeleteYou are all doing a great job guessing! I have no idea! All pretty though!
ReplyDeleteOld Man's Beard?? (ash tree)?
ReplyDeleteWhite Acacia??
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I don't think that's it either. Keep guessing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics!
ReplyDeleteI know I've seen the white-flowered tree before, but I am stumped as to the name. I know it's not a bradford pear, though that is what the flowers remind me of.

Thanks! No, not a bradford pear, they bloomed weeks ago.
